Getting there
The closest airport is Región de Murcia International (RMU) at Corvera, under an hour away by motorway. Alicante airport is further, at roughly an hour and a quarter, but has more flights. Both routes end on the single road that runs the length of the strip.
Day trips from La Manga
Cartagena, with its Roman theatre and port, is about 30 minutes away. The protected coves of Calblanque Regional Park are just south of the strip, and the city of Murcia or the mud baths of Lo Pagán on the Mar Menor make easy half-day outings.

In July and August the one main road along La Manga gets slow, and parking near the beaches fills up early. Staying close to your chosen beach, or leaving early in the morning, saves a lot of time.
